Top tip - olive oil

Dry skin and hair from your flight? Just ask for olive oil.

You should be able to ask for it anywhere you go. On the plane, at your hotel, even a basic air bnb will almost always have olive oil in the cupboard.

Is olive oil good for dry skin?

There’s good reason why people have been taking care of their skin with “liquid gold” for over 2,000 years!

You can use it on your face and body. If it is good enough to eat then it is fantastic for your skin. It is actually one of the best oils you can use topically and it is not just for dry skin. Some people swear by it as part of a regular routine. (Coconut oil as well of course, but this is likely to be harder to come by on the road).

Olive oil is great for hands which get extremely dry and cracked after a flight. Although you might want to do that just before bed time.

Other uses:

  • Olive oil hair mask / treatment
  • Make up remover
  • Antibacterial balm
  • Shaving cream

Note, olive oil is very rich and takes time to sink in so you might want blot it back especially if you’re not applying it before bed. People with sensitive skin should spot check first.
